In two newly-added performances, young people from the Roxy Regional Theatre's School of the Arts will present their fresh take on Edgar Lee Masters' classic SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY on Saturday, January 12, and Saturday, January 19, at noon.
Staged by John McDonald with dance choreography by Jessica Davidson and choral work by Erin Keas, Edgar Lee Masters' collection of short free-form poems visit the inhabitants of a sleepy New England town.
Selections from this masterwork are performed by Summer Aoki, Ali Arnold, Sydney Barksdale, Gavin Berlyak, Jesse Boyle, Addisyn Bryant, Kourtni Cottrell, Nancy Deibert, Whitney Flickinger, Sabine Gloeckner, Samantha Grimes, Truman Jepson, Emma Justice, Ashley Knowles, Patrick Long, Annalise Martin, Sidney McCarty, Lauren Mund, Madeline O'Connor, Nicole Powell, Christian Rieke, Tristan Sartor, Georgia Smith, Tori Toney, Mitchell Wolfe, Taylor Wyatt and Amy Wyer.
Since 1995, the Roxy Regional Theatre has been introducing youth to the experience of live theatre and expanding their knowledge of the craft through the School of the Arts. On Saturday mornings, children ages 10 to 18 learn basic acting techniques, workshop plays, and present a junior production on the mainstage as part of the regular season.
All tickets to SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY are $5 and may be purchased online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org, by phone at (931)645-7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours (9am to 2pm, Monday through Friday).
