HBO Documentary Films has acquired worldwide and television streaming rights to the Academy Award®- nominated documentary short, HOW DO YOU MEASURE A YEAR?, from longtime HBO collaborator Jay Rosenblatt (HBO’s “When We Were Bullies,” “Phantom Limb,” “The Darkness of Day,” “Human Remains”).

The main trouble with Dreamland is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. Billed as the tale of a Midwestern girl who aspires to become an actress and ends up mixing with sordid Hollywood types who show her that dreams shouldn't always come true - what happens on stage only supports this in theory.

Dreamland, a new musical conceived, written, composed by 14-time Emmy Award winner John Francis Smith with daughter Asia Ray Smith, will have its first ever "off-book" staged performances at the NoHo Arts Center Friday, June 17 at 8:00 pm; and Saturday, June 18 at 2:00 and 8:00 pm.  The production is also produced by Smith.  Robert Arnold directs, with musical direction by Christian Regul and Jake Anthony (who also serves as vocal director).

It should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone that on Tuesday night, February 16, Music City officially fell in love with Motown. Berry Gordy's musical is the stuff of legend and, as it takes us from 1983 all the way back to 1938 and back again, you can't help but be impressed by the ambitious young man's rise to preeminence; his story is the American dream come true and Gordy's impact on pop culture and the very fiber of our nation's history cannot be overstated - it's a story that resonates in Nashville to be certain.

San Francisco Opera Guild and Saks Fifth Avenue San Francisco have joined forces to present Fashion Forward: An Evening with Erdem at Pier 27, the new San Francisco Cruise Terminal on Wednesday, March 25. Performed live as part of the Memphis Children's Theatre Festival in May, this energetic, family-friendly audio recording is a collaboration with Theatre Memphis's touring company ShoWagon. GRIMMS' FAIRY TALES brings to life three tales of folklore collected by the Brothers Grimm: 'The Old Woman in the Woods,' 'Little Red Cap,' and 'The Three Little Birds.' A collaboration with the Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention and the Memphis College of Art, the show is a recording of a live performance at White Station Middle School on November 9, 2012. Presented to an audience of more than 700 students, this family-friendly tale features renowned voice actor Tom Kenny, who is perhaps best known as the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants. Chatterbox Audio Theater will collaborate with Theatre Memphis and the Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired to present a performance series of Audio Theater for the Visually Impaired. "Audio Theater for the Visually Impaired Performance Series" is made possible through a generous Arts Education and Outreach grant from ArtsMemphis and the series will consist of live performances of classic radio plays presented exclusively for the clients at Clovernook.
